Visuals are not my main act, but after years of communicating with designers, I enjoy trying my hand with the principles I've picked up. 

If you've decided to source your logo from an online community such as Logo Tournament or 99 Designs, you may want to engage someone to manage your contest. This includes communicating with interested designers beforehand to explain what you're looking for--and providing feedback on the competition entries. This enables the participating artists to refine their designs to produce a logo that meets your needs. Designers thrive on feedback, and if you don't engage, you may be disappointed with the results of your contest. I can fill that management role, shaving previous hours from the process so that you can get on with your regular work.
